This Years 'Steeling The Mind' Conference Report

Author

For the third straight year, it was a full house for the Steeling the Mind Bible Conference in Southern California, held this year in Anaheim. The spacious Heritage Forum hosted the event that drew people from as far away as New England.

It doesn't get any better than this " great speakers, tough subjects, and a crowd of Christians willing to invest a full day digging deeply into their Bibles. And now you can get the entire conference on tape or video for home Bible studies or church . . . all for great prices!

Kent Hovind began the conference with his lecture, "Lies in the Public School Textbooks." Kent's eye-opening information is a "must-have" for parents and grandparents alike. We believe every high school science teacher in America needs this information too!

Mike Riddle, from the Institute for Creation Research, followed with his talk, "The Scientific Case For the Origin of Life." A former Marine, Olympic athlete, and Microsoft communications expert, Mike puts the evolution theory to shame, clearly showing the "impossibility of the odds."

Are you witnessing with a watered-down gospel? Learn the difference between the true Gospel and the false gospel from Mike Gendron's talk, "jesus vs. Jesus." It really makes you think!

Jobe Martin, a former dentist, proves the complexity God designed into the animal kingdom is beyond chance! His excellent presentation, "Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution," integrates information with great graphics.

A crowd favorite this time was Carrie Parks' "How to Tell if Someone Is Lying." Having spent years training the FBI and state police, Carrie has combined her fascinating research with Biblical applications into a knock-your-socks-off presentation. You'll never watch a politician the same way again!

I presented a closer look at "The Passion of the Christ" in my talk, "Mel Gibson's Passion." His movie is a smash hit, but there are some inaccuracies that Christians need to be aware of. Included in the presentation are great pictures of the Garden of Gethsemane, Golgotha, and the Empty Tomb as well as excellent sketches of Jerusalem at the time of Christ.

You could've heard a pin drop when Gary Habermas of Liberty University presented his talk, "The Shroud of Turin." His presentation includes great slides and information regarding a most controversial subject " Jesus' purported burial cloth! Gary is one of the few Americans to have actually examined the cloth firsthand!

As the grand finale of the conference, Chuck Missler presented his "50 Reasons Rapture is Close!" This is the "gotta-have" tape of the year. It will make you stand on the east side of the room. No one does it better!
