Issachar Tour

We invite you to join with us as we celebrate our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Yahweh, Yeshua, the great I AM as we walk where He walked.

Israel photos

The Issachar Tour is Koinonia Institute’s one-of-a-kind experience to Israel that will give our explorers an Insiders look at the Israel of today. Besides visiting amazing biblical sites, this trip will provide private briefings. Previous tours included briefings and Q & A with members of the IDF, Mossad, and/or Shin Bet, the Palestinian Authority Watch, as well as members of the Knesset. These unique encounters with Israeli speakers will enlighten you to the Israel of today—the one that you will never see on the 6 o’clock news or read about in your local newspaper. You will learn of Israel’s struggle for survival and see firsthand that which threaten Israel today!

We will work alongside the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) and hear from organizations who are making a difference in the lives of the Jews.

The Issachar tour is divided into three distinct geographical locations. This allows us to focus on the three major threats to Israel today—Gaza, Lebanon, and the Golan (we do not go to Gaza). We begin on the Mediterranean Coast, then onto the Northern area of the Sea of Galilee, ending up in the Golden City.

Tel Aviv: Here we will get an overlook of the ancient port city of Jaffa (Joppa) and recount the life-changing events of both the Prophet Jonah and the Apostle Peter. Tonight we will have our Welcome Dinner and be greeted by Chuck Missler, as well as our first Israeli speaker.

Jezreel Valley: From Tel Aviv, we will journey back in history, making our way along the Via Mares. We will make our way through the Jezreel Valley, stopping at the Ramat David Air Force Base in Armageddon for a briefing at this elite air base. Following the briefing, should their schedule allow, we’ll head off to the tarmac to witness F16’s taking off and landing.

Before leaving the area, we will be given a prophetic teaching concerning the events that will one day transpire in this setting! We also visit Megiddo with our last stop of the day at Mt. Precipice for a time of worship.

Sea Of Galilee: One “must” stop will be on the cliffs of Mt. Arbel for a majestic overlook of the entire Galilee region! One element that is essential for our tours is to give our folks a chance to worship through the Land, as well as walking through the Land. Arbel will be one of those spots!

The sites in the Galilee will include: The Golan Heights, Caesarea Philippi, as well as the traditional sites along the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee: Capernaum, Tabgha, and Mt. Beatitudes. During our time in the north, we also will include a look over into Lebanon and Syria.

The Journey To Jerusalem: As we leave the Galilee, we will travel through the scenic Jordan Valley and make a few stops before arriving into Jerusalem. We’ll visit Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We also will stop at En Gedi where we will give you some time to perhaps compose your own Psalm, sit and ponder the Psalms of David, climb to the waterfall, and of course, worship!

This trip will change the way you read your Bible because from now on the words are no longer just black and white letters on a page; now they become memories that are in living color!

So much is included here: Mt. of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, pray together at the Western Wall, sit upon the Southern Steps, examine the Temple Mount, visit the City of David, and conclude at the empty tomb. We will also visit both Yad Vashem and the Knesset.

The Herodian Experience

Plus Masada, Dead Sea and Messianic Congregation Service

The Herodian Period has a unique appeal since it deals with an epoch time and with personages inextricably fixed in our minds: Herod the Great, his son Herod Antipas, along with his consort Herodius, Pontius Pilate, Julius Caesar, Mark Anthony and Cleopatra, the Emperors Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula and Vespasian, the High Priest Caiaphas, John the Baptist and, most important of all, Jesus.

In many ways, the time 63BC to 66AD was the golden age of the Jewish State. Under the absolute rule of Herod the Great, arts and commerce flourished. During his reign, Herod embarked on the most ambitious building program of any Jewish king since Solomon, gracing the land, particularly Jerusalem, with spectacular buildings and projects, from the refurbishing of the Temple in Jerusalem (one of the most beautiful buildings in the Roman Empire), to incredible palaces constructed throughout his kingdom.

On this unique extension, you will have the opportunity to experience many of Herod's building achievements, including his famous palace at Masada, Herodian (his country club palace just outside of Jerusalem and where his tomb has recently been discovered). Caesarea on the Mediterranean with its famous port—the first time in ancient history where a port was built using divers on a completely straight piece of coastline. The Temple in Jerusalem was completely destroyed in Jerusalem in 70AD but we can study a lot about it by visiting the Western Wall Tunnels, the Temple Institute, the Herodian Quarter, the Burnt House—many of these are sites not included in any other tour.

But let’s go back to the beginning of this exciting journey. We begin the extension with attending a Messianic Congregation Service in Haifa, Tents of Mercy. We can’t think of a better way to start. And how do we end? At the Dead Sea (never before included in the fall). Other sites not offered previously that are included: Beer Sheva, Tel Arad, and the Valley of Elah (Where David fought Goliath).
