Ephesus was an important city at the intersection of mjor trade routes. Beginning his third missionary journey, Paul returned to Ephesus and stayed there for about two years, preaching and teaching (Acts 19:1,8-10; 20:31). During this time, a great number rejected the worship of Diana to become Christians. Ephesians speaks on many subjects from salvation and grace to marriage relationships, and is especially noted as a practical manual on spiritual warfare.
